The Queen Shide Academy's "Bring The Noise" is a free 12-week program for aspiring musicians aged 13+ running Fridays from 4:30-7:00 PM at Otara Music Arts Centre starting May 2, 2025.

Program Focus:

• Songwriting
• Rap techniques
• Live performances
• Radio workshops
• Audio engineering
• NZ music industry support

What the students will get out of this programme:

• Provides creative outlet and skills development for youth
• Creates accessible pathways to music industry careers
• Fosters community connections and cultural expression
• Offers constructive, supervised after-school activities
• Develops local talent regardless of financial circumstances

Supported by Otara-Papatoetoe Local Board, OMAC and Auckland Council, this initiative strengthens the community through artistic development while giving young people valuable creative and technical skills.
